杨善洲退休后在施甸县大亮山林场植树造林期间，有一天到保山市去办事。好心的驾驶员对他说你老了我不要你的钱。杨善洲不肯，坚决把钱塞给驾驶员。驾驶员跟杨善洲解释说所有坐他车的老人他都不收钱。杨善洲急了，他对驾驶员说：“你不要钱，我就不坐你的车。”说完，杨善洲真的下了车。驾驶员见状，大吃一惊，赶忙下车去请杨善洲上车。付了车费，杨善洲才重新走上了客车。

After retirement, Yang Shanzhou was occupied in tree planting at Daliangshan Forest Farm in Shidian County. One day he went on errands to Baoshan city.
